B3 Single crystalline γʼ-strengthened Co-base-superalloys – Alloy development, lattice misfit and mechanical properties
The objective of project B3 is to further develop and characterize γʼ-strengthened Co-base-superalloys, a new class of single crystalline high temperature materials. Their application potential will be explored. Research will contribute to a better overall understanding of single crystalline superalloys with γ/γ’-microstructures. Emphasis will be placed on the investigation of the effect of the positive lattice misfit on microstructural evolution and mechanical properties, such as creep strength. Deformation mechanisms and the effects of central d-shell elements will be compared to results obtained for Ni-base superalloys.
