C5 Microstructure evolution in single crystal superalloys simulated by the phase-field method
The C5 project will attempt to map the complete production life cycle from manufacture (solidification, heat treatment, reprocessing) to failure under high temperature creep stress. The simulation tools and models developed so far and verified with the partner projects will be combined in order to establish a causal relationship between cause (in the process chain) and effect (with regard to material properties). Special emphasis is placed on the influence of the microstructure on the mechanical behavior.
